About Us

Hello my name is Matilda. I am two years old.

While my mummy (Clare) had me in her tummy and also once I had arrived, she really struggled to find bright, funky and different baby clothes for me on the high street. She looked and looked everywhere, and after finding some of the fab things that people didn’t know about, she got very excited. She got so excited in fact, that she decided to tell other mummy’s and daddy’s about these fab finds.

So my mummy quit her job as a buyer in the fashion industry and my mam (Gethlene) retired from her role as financial manager and together we created Matilda Loves Archie (my role being chief executive tester of course). I came up with the name of our shop when we discovered my little brother Archie was in my mummy’s tummy, and I do love him very much. So Matilda Loves Archie was born and we launched our small baby boutique in Swansea, South Wales in Sept 2008.

At Matilda loves Archie bright and bold is beautiful and through this website we want to bring our small baby boutique to the world, the baby clothes and toys we sell and the brands we stock. From the Scandinavian cool of Smafolk, Lipfish and Ida T, to the mosh pit attitude of Aussie brand Rock your Baby and home-grown labels Toby Tiger and Brights and Stripes. Matilda loves Archie is about funky and alternative baby clothes, toys, and gifts. It’s about parents who want something different for their baby!

Now Archie and I aim to bring you ‘something different for your baby’ on-line, along with mummy and mam of course! We are kicking off a mini style revolution and it starts in the cradle!
